Now, Farhan Akhtar seems to have taken a dig at and called his exit a “pattern”.
What did Farhan Akhtar say?
During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Farhan Akhtar opened up about how Saif Ali Khan almost walked out of Dil Chahta Hai as the film completed 25 years.
He recalled that just before film’s shoot was about to begin, Saif faced a date issue as the schedule of his another film that the actor was scheduled to do shifted and he decided to leave despite everyone convincing him to do the film.
Farhan said, “For me, it was just like my head was destroyed because it was… When we met him, when we got into it, there was nobody else who could’ve played that part. It was just impossible. It was a true heartbreak.”
While talking about Saif’s exit, Farhan recalled Ranveer’s exit from Don 3 and said that the film’s shoot was about to begin. Without naming the actor, he said, “It was a month away from filming, which seems to be a pattern nowadays.”
The interviewer then laughed out and Farhan added, “But, not just with me…things like this happen too.”
All about Don 3 exit
Ranveer Singh decided to walk out of days before filming was scheduled to begin. Several reports claimed that Ranveer blamed Farhan for approaching Hrithik Roshan for the role behind his back when his career was struggling. But, when Ranveer gave biggest hit of the year with Dhurandhar and Ghurandhar: The Revenge, Farhan decided to cast Ranveer in Don 3.
However, Farahan dismissed the claims. Reportedly, Ranveer returned the signing amount, but the makers demanded a compensation of Rs 45 crore. Later, Farhan approached the Federation of Western Cine Employees (FWICE) and the film body announced a non-cooperation move against the actor over his exit from the film.
The actor then issued a legal notice to the film body after the directive was issued. They later revoked the directive.
