Silver prices rose 1.09 per cent to Rs 2.33 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Monday amid a firm global trend.

The white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 2,514 in a business turnover of 1,496 lots.

Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.
