Health Minister leads on-ground assessment of landslide

Udupi: District authorities recorded the presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader at the location of a landslide that had taken place in Renjal village within Karkala taluk. The minister undertook a careful examination of the site, moving with a group of officials and local people across the uneven and damp ground that characterised the affected stretch.

Once the physical survey concluded, attention shifted to an organised review meeting conducted at the taluk level. Participants examined procedures related to natural disaster management, sharing information on the immediate aftermath and the resources that could be mobilised.

The Deputy Commissioner’s official account noted the minister’s dual role in both observing the landscape changes and guiding the conversation on preparedness. The gathering provided space for clarifying responsibilities and confirming that communication channels between the village, the taluk office, and higher authorities remained open.
