Telangana hostel horror: Class 10 student beaten with sticks and plates by 12 classmates; parents allege school cover-up

New Delhi: A Class 10 student named Abhishek is in the hospital after being beaten up inside his school hostel by 12 fellow students. The incident happened at night at Sri Chaitanya High School in Dammaiguda, under the Jawahar Nagar Police Station area.

According to a complaint lodged by his family, the assault took place at night inside the school hostel. The parents stated that 12 students attacked Abhishek, beating him with sticks and plates, and kicking on his face with their boots.

Allegations of cover up

Abhishek’s parents revealed that the school management initially called them on the phone and claimed their son had fallen down the stairs and suffered injuries. Relying on this information, the family rushed to the school and brought him home.

However, as Abhishek’s condition worsened, his family admitted him to a hospital. Once under medical care, the student told his parents that he had not fallen down the stairs, but was instead attacked by senior students under the guise of ragging.

Parents demand action

Following their son’s revelation, the parents approached the local police to file an official complaint, bringing allegations of severe ragging and violence at the hostel to light.

The parents have strongly accused the school management of trying to suppress the incident and hide the assault rather than reporting it to authorities or giving accurate information to the family. They are now demanding strict action against the 12 students allegedly involved in the attack as well as against the school management for its handling of the situation.

Abhishek is still getting medical treatment at the hospital. His parents are demanding strict action against both the students who attacked him and the school management for hiding the truth.
