Backrooms now streaming on OTT: Know where to watch Kane Parsons’ psychological horror film
The film had previously become available on platforms including Prime Video from July 14, 2026, before making its way to subscription streaming.

What is Backrooms about?
Backrooms follows Clark, a struggling furniture store owner who discovers a hidden doorway beneath his pirate-themed shop, Cap’n Clark’s Ottoman Empire. What appears to be an ordinary entrance leads him into the mysterious Backrooms, an endless maze of yellow-lit hallways where the normal rules of reality no longer apply.
Unable to escape the strange dimension, Clark turns to his therapist, Dr Mary Kline, and his assistants Bobby and Kat for help. Their investigation soon takes them deeper into the unsettling maze, where they encounter terrifying entities and are forced to confront their fears and traumatic pasts.

Who stars in Backrooms?
Chiwetel Ejiofor leads the cast as Clark, while Renate Reinsve plays his therapist, Dr Mary Kline. Mark Duplass appears as Async scientist Phil, with Finn Bennett as Bobby Franklin and Lukita Maxwell as Kat Taylor.
The cast also includes Avan Jogia as Async explorer Naren Warne, Krista Kosonen as Nora Kline and Robert Bobroczkyi as Pirate Clark.
Backrooms box office collection
The film’s theatrical performance adds another interesting dimension to its OTT arrival. Made on a modest budget, Backrooms reportedly emerged as one of 2026’s biggest box-office surprises, earning more than $360 million worldwide during its theatrical run.
In India, the psychological horror film reportedly collected around Rs 6.5 crore net and Rs 6.8 crore gross.
With its unusual premise, unsettling liminal spaces and strong theatrical run, Backrooms now gives OTT viewers a chance to explore the horror film that turned its eerie maze into a global big-screen phenomenon.
