Toxic trailer: Yash’s fierce avatar, nude scene and explosive action raise the heat; watch
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film looks vastly different from a conventional gangster drama. The trailer moves between lavish period settings, brutal action, romance and moments of unsettling violence, while Yash appears to be at the centre of a sprawling world where power comes at a price.

Yash clearly seems to be having a blast with his new avatar. Sporting different looks through the trailer, the actor moves from swaggering gangster to a more menacing figure, with his screen presence carrying several of the trailer’s biggest moments.
One sequence in particular is bound to grab attention — Yash appears completely nude in a striking scene before the trailer cuts back into its chaotic world of crime and violence.
But it is not just his appearance that commands attention. His dialogue delivery adds another layer to the character. Yash’s voice drops into a deep, gravelly register, giving even his relatively short lines an intimidating weight. When he delivers, “Do I look civilised to you?”, the line lands less like casual dialogue and more like a warning from a man who has no intention of playing by anyone else’s rules.
The trailer also packs in a barrage of action, with gunfights, explosions, confrontations and stylised combat unfolding against an elaborate period setting. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria add intrigue
Yash is not the only one commanding attention. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth all appear to have substantial parts in the story, with each character seemingly connected to the dangerous world surrounding Yash.
Kiara, in particular, gets several striking moments in the trailer, while Tara appears to be closely linked to the film’s criminal underworld. Nayanthara’s character adds another layer of mystery to the already complicated narrative.
Rather than spelling out the entire plot, the trailer throws several characters and situations at the viewer and leaves their connections to unfold. That approach makes Toxic look like more than a straightforward action vehicle.
Toxic promises a dark gangster saga
Set against the backdrop of Goa and its criminal underworld, Toxic reportedly explores the drug trade and mafia networks during a period spanning the 1940s to the 1970s.
The scale is unmistakably ambitious. Lavish sets, period costumes, stylised cinematography and large action set pieces give the film a distinct visual identity, while the emotional conflicts appear to be equally important to its narrative.
For Yash, the project arrives after the phenomenal popularity of the KGF franchise and puts him in yet another larger-than-life role. Geetu Mohandas, meanwhile, makes a dramatic move from acclaimed independent cinema to a massive commercial action film.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026. If the trailer is any indication, the film is preparing to deliver a chaotic mix of gangster drama, romance, violence and spectacle — with Yash seemingly ready to own every frame.
